Margaret Howard Watson, Margaret (Peg) Watson, is the Founder and President of GEO: Global Environmental Options, which she created in 1994 as the result of her participation in the 1993 Greening of the White House Initiative. One of the countiy's original green building materials experts, Peg coordinated and participated in numerous Greening Initiatives worldwide from the Greening of the National Parks to the redevelopment of Kobe, Japan. Her recent efforts have focused on projects that can help build a secure and sustainable future for children. As Executive Director of the Green Schools Alliance, a program of GEO, she is working in partnership with other dedicated individuals and organizations to build the New York Green Schools Alliance and Pilot Green Schools Climate Commitment Pledge, and the Global Green Schools Alliance. Ms. Watson is an architect, environmentalist, writer and mother. She has a BA from Smith College where she studied art and anthropology, a MArch from Columbia University, and completed an internship at The Institute For Architecture and Urban Studies in NYC. She is married to Rob Watson, the “Father of LEED,” and they have an 8 year-old inspiration named Max — her greatest accomplishment. |
